Personally, I think it's healthy to b*t@h every once in a while...

I said to ______, not to be a _________. Let's clear that up right now.

I generally try to make all of my blogs upbeat, postive and encouraging. I have so many wonderful people in my life and have been given my fair share of blessings in these 25 years. However, I'm just feeling a little 'negative' today. And here is my reasoning.....

This morning, bright and early, I drove to San Marcos to take my 4-8 generalist exam for teaching certification. I felt pretty prepared. I didn't even have 'nervous tummy' or sweaty armpits like usual. I find my seat and get comfy for the next 5 hours to take the 130 question exam. Eng/LA is first with 38 questions. I'm feelin' good. Then it's Math.... and this is where I go downhill. There are 26 Math questions and overall I feel confident... but there are those few that must have come from a college textbook. I've never even seen/heard of the numbers (and letters) on this thing!

Where did I miss the boat with math?
Is this a Hamilton problem?
Is this a right brain/left brain problem?
Is it because I'm Sagittarius?

Since about 8th grade I have felt very insufficient in Math, contradictory to the learning myth of "you're either a Science/Math student or a Social Studies/English student". I believe my strongest subject is probably Science. Not only because it's easy for me, but I also REALLY enjoy it. A close second is English/LA... just because it's the language we speak daily and that should come natural, I hope.

Back to the test....
I had to sign a confidentiality statement saying I wouldn't talk about the test or they come take my first born, but none-the-less, just imagine the worse-case Math problem with losts of numbers, letter, symbols, etc... and I had about 3 or 4 of those on the test. My friends, that is NOT 4-8 Math. And if it is, Hamilton needs to step up it's game.

ON TO MY SECOND RANT. and I'm just going to get these both over with in one blog so I don't have to be negative twice.
Obama. Do I need to say anything more? Oh well, I'm going to anyway. I voted. I can complain. If you don't like what I have to say about "your" president and you are reading this, quit reading. If you are offended, I warned you.

What the heck were these people thinking who elected him?

I like to recall a scene from the San Francisco trip in  Fall 2008 that I took with my parents to see my sister run a marathon. I knew San Fran was a VERY liberal city, and I had prepared myself. However, at the marathon finish line, we waited for sister to cross the line for like 2 hours. It's a marathon people; 26.2 miles. They take a long time. Anyway, as we are waiting, people of all sorts are wearing their Obama garb, campaigning for the man. Dad would literally walk up to them and ask them "What are you thinking?" Of course, this usually elicited some sort of dirty look instead of a response...But, I do wonder now if some of those people are asking themselves the same question.

I assume I don't even need to bring up what was just passed over the weekend, but I am going to anyway.
I am 'complaining' (I won't say the B word again) about mine and Casey's insurance co-pay going up to $50. Yeah, I know, I should consider myself lucky that my husband has a job where they offer medical insurance. However, I can't help but to think of how much worse it can (and will) get with Obama's HealthCare Reform. With our old insurance the co-pay was $20 and Rx were relatively inexpensive. Now with our new $50 co-pay, the Rx price has increased as well. I realize to someone without medical issues this may seem trivial. But try having to see three doctors at every visit... that's $150 right away. And now with this lovely, new system in place, we can't even see the doctor of our choice. Thanks, America... or SF... or whoever it was that voted for him. I'll be sending YOU my medical bills.

Okay, I'm done being a crabby 'ole member of the GOP.

  2. I agree! LOL! Better keep my 'complaining' to myself! :)

Also, I am a MATH person but not a Science person whatsoever ... and also a Social Studies instead of English person ... maybe you and I got the opposite halfs! :)
