It's Christmas time pretty baby....

I'M OUT OF SCHOOL FOR TWO WEEKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This is nurse-lady Lerch and I this morning before the Christmas festivities began in my classroom. We had a great day at school today. The kiddos were super excited for the break and you.could.tell! Hah! We went Christmas carroling at the nursing home and the kids did wonderful! Hopefully they enjoyed it and they'll remember these small things they are doing for others. I'm so glad our school does stuff like this with the kids and for others in the community... so much of the "Christmas spirit" is forgotten in the gift giving and all.

But, I did get some spectacular gifts :) I received jewelry, makeup, lotion, a blanket, lots of candy, coffee mugs, poinsettias, and the list goes on. I used to LOVE when mom would come home the day school let out for Christmas. Lacey and I would rummage through her stuff for all the goodies. I especially love the fudge! And now, I'm the one bringing home the goodies and Casey is doing all the rummaging :)

This afternoon the YJH faculty played the YJH students in a (not-so) friendly game of basketball. I am so glad I was "just a cheerleader". They asked me to play but most of the students are bigger than me and I didn't feel like spending my holidays nursing any pulled muscles. It was a great game... and faculty won! The best part was the commentating. I laughed so hard I cried! I wish someone would have videoed b/c it would be a hit on youtube!

Well I have lots of cleaning, organizing, sleeping, laying around, tv watching, eating, sleeping, shopping, napping, coffee drinking, and sleeping to do over the next week to keep me busy!
Hope you all are having a nice, relaxing start to your holidays!

Isn't this the cutest?? I look awful, but she is a doll! It's my principal's daughter, Samantha. She spent the day with her daddy at school today, but ended up hanging out with me (& napping on me). I am talking to a student in this picture so I look dumb, but this was during our oh-so-entertaining faculty vs. student game!
