"Paisers want a cookie?"

That is a question we find ourselves asking about a million times a day because, for Paisley, Christmas came early this year.

My parents came down Friday night for the installation of the new french doors, complete with a doggie door. So Saturday while the guys worked, mom and I did our usual Gonzales shopping extravaganza. Which consists of WalMart, Bealls, and HEB. I know, we're really high-end shoppers :) We also went to South Texas Trailers Sales and China Basket. I could do a lot of damage at both of those stores!!! Good thing I have self-control (or maybe it's the fact that I don't have a full-time job, hmmm).

These are some of my great finds from the weekend. Each of these were only $10 at STTS. I originally purchased them to serve as bookends, but they weren't heavy enough. So now they are going to be decoration on my new shelf daddy is building me for my desk area. They will look great next to the sign mom got me for my bday.
Today was my day off, and of course Casey got sick and came home from work. Not that I don't want him here with me, but I couldn't go about my usual routine of having all the lights on, tv on as loud as I want, etc. He requires complete silence and darkness when he is sick. He's been sick for about a week so I finally made him an appt. and the Dr. said it was an "advanced" sinus infection...whatever, that means. He is on the road to recovery with meds, a yummy supper of french toast, fried eggs and sausage, and a lazy day in bed with our favorite puppy.
I had to make a little noise because a lot of Christmas presents needed wrapping... and most of them were for him. I knew he wouldn't come look to see what I was doing because he felt so bad, so I was able to wrap them in complete privacy. He's such a snoop when it comes to presents... and he usally guesses EXACTLY what they are just by picking up the box, ugh! Underneath the tree is getting pretty crowded, but at least I'm done Christmas shopping. All I need to do is get a few more stocking stuffers Saturday in Austin with Amy, and I'll be ready for Christmas.

So, I guess that pretty much sums up my last few days. I want to give a big "THANK YOU" to my dad for all his hard work putting in my new doors, they looks GREAT! I love how the blinds are inside the glass...less to dust!!! Paisley hasn't quite mastered the whole concept, but I feel sure once cousin Sadie gets here next week, she'll learn pretty quick. I still have to hold open the flap for her, she's so scared of it! And we are constantly on either side asking her "Paisers want a cookie?"

  1. Our back door has blinds like that and I really like it, but I think I would like to have a doggie door too! I'm pretty sure Lacye would be scared of the flap too! She's pretty much scared of her own shadow!
