Hoppy Easter

This Easter weekend my parents were able to come to Gonzales on Thursday night. It always feel so rushed when they come Friday night b/c all we do all weekend is work, work, work. This time Mom & I actually had time to spend a day together shopping! It was so much fun,  but we wish Lacey could have gone with us. We went to to San Marcos, aiming to hit the Outlet Mall, but we started at JcPenney, Target, and Bealls and did enough damage there. The guy stayed  home and worked on our garden, fixing the fence, and other things around the house.... I really appreciate how hard they worked, while we played :)

Saturday we worked outside all day as well, planting flowers and getting all of my pots re-soiled. I got 10 6packs we had to plant and then some various other flowers I thought were pretty. I had never seen one of these, and I kind of thought it resembled a gerber daisy. This is called a Dahlia.

It was so nice to be outside in the warm sun, except for the fact that I got a sunburn and I had to sweat. Those of you who know me, know I hate to sweat!!!

We finished up the work outside mid-afternoon, came in took cold showers, and the guys took over the man-room watching the DIY network while mom and I worked on my taxes. They took forever, but we finally figure out what the problem was and that we really do owe the stinkin' government $94. Oh well, what can I do? The money is in the mail already!

Then, mom and I had several other projects going... as well as making this adorable little bread bunny. Actually, he turned out to look like more of a vampire bunny, but whose judging? I thought he was pretty darn cute myself :)

We grilled Wagyu burgers for dinner... yum! That meat is so darn good!!!

Mom & I decided we were going to be crafty and make her some decorative wreaths for her house.
I thought they turned out quite fabulous, personally....

And here is our Spring garden.
Can't wait for some fresh veggies!

Sunday, we went to the early service at church. The message was great. I am so glad I am at the Methodist church now, I really like the people there and the pastor is great! But, the best part is... Casey doesn't mind going with me! At my former church here in Gonzales, he really wasn't crazy about all the singing and preachin' us Baptists do. But the Methodist church is more Catholic, I guess, and he seems to enjoy it a little more.

After lunch we went to Lockhart and ate lunch at Papa and Nanny's. Mom and Dad went with us and enjoyed the yummy meal since it's on their way home. I always hate to say 'good-bye' to them,  but I know I get to see them again in two weeks. Wouldn't it just be easier if we moved to Hamilton? I think so ;)
