my whereabouts...

***UPDATED***
whew, things have been plenty busy for me and i am soooo glad for the weekend!

this past week i taught monday & tuesday like usual and then spent the next two days in austin at the tcea conference. yes, the texas computer educators conference. and no, i am not a techy nor am i a computer teacher. however, the conference was really great and very imformative. it kinda put me in 'dream land' and i wanted all the cool devices that were being presented... but then i snapped back into reality and remembered what kind of school district i work in. hmmm, ipods and ipads for every student, prolly not!

while i was there i met the real life leigh anne tuohy! (portrayed by sandra bullock in the blind side) she is an awesome speaker and so just like one of us. very honest, straight forward and downright hilarious! if she is ever in your area - GO! you won't regret it! her opening line was "i had to pack in a hurry because of the ice and snow... so excuse my panty line, i grabbed the wrong underwear!" i bought her book, got i autographed and had a 45 second conversation with her. i would share pictures from my iphone but it's currently not workable for the reason being... I GOT AN iPHONE 4! so as soon as i transfer all of my junk, i'll upload a picture of miss leigh anne!
today at school was pretty much 'catch up day' for me -- and it was a flex day and early release for the kiddos. i sorted through the sub notes, referrels, emails, and paperwork. whew, it pretty much took all day too! i had a nice lunch out to a mexican food joint with my girlfriends from school. i work with an amazing group of girls... they rock! the students were pretty good today too; they even helped me grade my papers because i was so behind! now i just need to get on entering grades because today is the end of our 4th six weeks! do you know what that means??? only 15 weeks of school left! it's gone by soooooo fast.

i am not sure if i have broken the news to my blogging community -- but i have taken on the duty of cheer sponsor. i know... what the heck am i thinking, huh?!?!  hormones, parents, attitudes, parents, sassy girls, hormones. but honestly i am so excited. it kinda takes me back to my glory days of cheering! that's also what i spent today doing. i had to hurry and meet with my principal and go over the 'cheer constitution' and get it to school board to approve. after monday we will be in full swing with all of the cheer stuff; starting with the parents meeting. that outta be fun! i'm sure i'll have lots of crazy, drama-filled stories to share :)

well, i shall get busy entering grades. this is the worst part of being a teacher...promise!
