SURPRISE!

Well, I did it... for the first time in  my life. I managed to keep a secret! I pulled off a suprise party for Casey, and it was truly a surprise. We tricked him into taking his dad feed before we "went to eat". He fell right into our trap! When we drove up he couldn't really see the cars, most were parked at the barn, but you could see about 40 silhouettes under the carport and the closer we got the more he realized just exactly what was going on. All he said was "what the hell?"..... Then he spotted Charlie, Robert, and the rest of the boys and knew... it was his birthday party!

We had ribs, sausage, homemade tater salad, coleslaw, deviled eggs, macaroni, beans... it was all great! My inlaws did a fantastic job on everything!!! And the cake was great too... he even let us sing "Happy Birthday" to him. We ended up leaving around midnight to come back to Gonzales. I think we all needed a good night's rest after two nights of birthday parties in a row! (We celebrated Clark Kibby turning 4 on Friday night in Bastrop)

Lacey and Mark came in Saturday around noon from her inlaws in LaGrange and us girls shopped around Gonzales while the boys worked on Casey's new tiller (pics to post soon). Hopefully, we will get a fall garden planted since we have our own equipment now, thanks to Dad & his Craigslist shopping! Now, we are just waiting on a part to come in to it can "optimize it's potentional". Haha!

Sunday we all caught up on sleep here at the house just laying around. Casey grilled us some great burgers, the ladies made the usual WalMart run, and before we knew it was 3 'o clock and time for the Jenkins to head north so they could make in time to watch the Cowboy's lose! Mom and Dad left shortly after...but stopped to eat sushi in Austin, thanks for rubbing it in dad. :)

It was a fabulous weekend.... I am soo happy Casey got to see all of his friends again. It made me realize how much I miss everyone too and that we need to get together more often. I also had a great time with family, and can't wait to see them all again on othe 3rd in Dallas for our ALR walk!
