Paisley's disasters

As you may or may not know, my dog, Paisley destroy things. And it's not all necessarily on purpose. Over the course of two years she has managed to eat the foot off of our nice wooden futon, chew up the corner of our faux wood blinds, eat the leg of our tv stand, eat various plants throughout the house, and a multitude of other incidents.... But over the past few weeks, things have escalated.... and they've all taken place in our bedroom! About 3 weeks ago I came home from work on a Friday and smelled the most awful smell. I narrowed it down to the smell being in the bedroom, and then discovered it was on our comforter... she had barfed on our suede comforter! So the following Monday I packed it up and took it to the cleaners. I just got it back Monday.... and it smelled worse! I laid down and literally cried. Casey thought I had lost my mind b/c I was cyring over a comforter, but I just said "it was a wedding present from my sister" (insert weeping voice here). He told me that for our anniversary he'd buy me a new one and even repaint the room (only if he HAD too). But, I was able to find one that will go with the paint and decor already in there... I LOVE IT!

But meanwhile, before I had gotten the comforter back Monday, I was blowdrying my hair for work and saw Paisley go from laying sound asleep on our bed to a dead sprint to her hiding spot in the closest. (she has a hiding spot when she gets in trouble in the closest under a rack of clothes) I immediately knew she had done something wrong... and on my bed! Yepp, sure enough, Paisley had tee teed my bed in her sleep. I don't know if it was that she was so wornout from the weekend or what, but it soaked through 4 layers of bedding... thankfully stopping before it got to our high dollar mattress. At this point, I'm already running late for work because after not getting in bed until almost midnight, I had overslept. But alas, I washed all of the bedding and everything is back to normal now... maybe? What is normal??

Needless to say, when her daddy found out... he sent her running back to the closet!

***UPDATE***
When I first wrote this blog, I obviously had not done everything in my power to save the "wedding present" comforter. My wonderful mother in-law, knowing I'm in despair, called a friend who had retired from the drycleaning business. His advice was to take the comforter to the laundrymat and wash it in the largest tub. After all, what did I have to lose if I ruined it? So off to the nasty lovely Gonzales laundrymat I went. Ugh, this place was not up to par... I can't even imagine having to frequently do this. But after I got over the initial disgust and a nice little hispanic lady taught me how to use the washer, we were on our way to cleanliness (which is next to Godliness at our house). About $3.00 and 30 minutes later...ah ha, a nice smelling comforter! I brought it home and drapped it over my bar and when we got home last night... ta da, it was dry and ready for use again.

Unfortunantly I cancelled the beautiful comforter that is linked above. I don't have an excuse for wanting it now... Although my hubby said I could still get it, I sacrificed it in the name of saving $200. Good for me :)

So just a word of advice to anyone who has puking/peeing dogs in the house.... don't dryclean it! Save your money and just take it to the local laundry mat

  1. Ohhh my -- she sounds like a mess!! My pup ate my library book, and that was the most horrid thing she has done along with a few, or a ton, accidents here and there! We still love them though :)
