down on the farm...

not really. it just sounded appropriate because of what our afternoons have consisted of.

casey and i have been canning our own veggies from our garden. i know, it sounds like we have the most boring life... but really, it's kinda fun and it's a heck of a lot better than spending our 'quality time' together watching the simpson's. gag.

monday we made homemade hotsauce and canned it, storing it for year-round use. and today, we canned our own stewed tomatoes for year-round soup starter. next, we plan on pickling okra!

  1. I'm impressed. We are trying to grow 2 little bell pepper plants and having trouble. (they are just in a pot and Jordan tried to kill them in the beginning) Well last night I went to go look at my one lonely pepper that I was so excited that it might be big enough to eat by August (it's been slowly growing) and I touched it and it broke off! I was so sad!

I was going to make pickles last year from cucumbers that were given to us and we couldn't eat fast enough. I got the recipe from my Great Grandma and even some jars, but never ended up doing it.
